The Electric Scooter – Vectrix

More & more people around the world are switching to alternate technology to protect the environment. The birth of electric scooter Vectrix in UK is revolutionizing the auto industry. The price tag may be high at 7000 pounds & may come down after several years. The vectrix sccoter has a horse power of 300 cc (29 bhp), the torque of 900 cc bike, the kilowatt rating of 750 cc (21kw). The vectrix has a regenerative throttle with the grip upwards & downwards. Twist upwards at a steady rate & the bike reverses, twist upwards as you are riding along and it acts as a progressive brake as well as sends a charge back to the battery like the ” energy capture braking technology”. Coming to the formula one next season, throttle’s fly by wire technology commonly used in cars. Currently in yamaha’s R1 & R6 and APRILLA’S shiver. The battery pack nickel metal hydride lies across the bottom of the chasis. The brushless DC radial air gap motor produces max torque of 65 nm (peak) and 22 nm continuos. It is the beginning of wonderful eletric scooter era.

New Horizons in Fuels

The whole world is focusing on new fuels for automobiles. Everybody is now looking for chemical synthesis & different processes to develop an alternate to crude oil. Americans are working on developing alternate fuels. They are developing custom built machines with valves, hoppers, fans to crush the pine chips and turn then to rich energy gas.

Jatropa seeds are not only the plant matter for fuels the other plant matter are also having oils which can be extracted along with corn sticks, wood chips, straw & other unknown plants having potential resource for alternate fuels.

Different chemical techniques & processes to crack open the biological molecules to turn the biomass to transperent fuel.

The Fuel is to mix the material with steam to produce the gas consisting of hydrogen & carbon monoxide & they can be converted to liquid fuels.

The whole world should invest billions of dollar to develop an alternate fuel material instead of spending money on military purpose & to take the initiative to every person for better living.

Fuel Cells – Alternative Fuels for Automobiles

For the past 5 decades scientists and engineers are thinking about developing alternative technology for I.C engines using different sources of energy. There is no complete breakthrough in the alternate fuel technology. Now everybody is seriously thinking of developing alternate technology for automobile due to ozone layer damage & emission of CO & other gases. Nowadays everyone is talking about green environment. The fuel cell technology is an interesting source of energy. It is offering a very high energy source.

The system consists of 3 fuel cells connected in series plus a turbo blower to supply the cells with air, a humidification & cooling system to manage resurgent gases & a set of auxillary components.

The fuel cell system is housed beneath the floor pan & supplied with hydrogen at a pressure of 1.5 bar from a tank beneath the rear floor pan that holds the gas at 350 bar.

The system is said to be very simple, good performance at low temp & suitable for the production of the light.

The propulsion system was developed with an air delivery system specifically designed to match the requirement of the fuel cell. By designing the air system completely around the fuel cell, the purpose built compressor is claimed to deliver exactly what the fuel system requires across the entire range offering the highest efficiency at lowest cost.

The fuel cells of 60kw through the AC 3-phase asynchronous electric engine & transmission located in the engine delivers 50kmph in 5 seconds and a top speed of 130km.
